Freak Fixx

Hey MuscleManiacs!

I’m back!.!  Whew I’ve had a few crazee busy weeks!

In recent weeks my schedule has been non- stop!   Isnt it always like that when you are getting ready for a show? lolol..  I can’t complain ,  I love what I do . I recently got re- certified in atctive -release technique spinal module.  As you know I work on ahtletes of all kinds and day to day  individuals fixing  alling aches and pains. Whether it be a joint tendon or muscle  issue , we are taught how to diagnose the problem and hopefully  correct the issue.

I get  INCREDIBLE satisfaction when my experience  allows me to fix someone in pain. The look on some of my clients faces when I’m able to remove pain they’ve had for 3 weeks up to 3 yrs go away in one hour .  Priceless.

latest certficate earned.

working on former nfl great  Mike Wahl

IFBB PRO Krissy Chin  2 weeks out from her 2nd place victory at the optium pro  figure championship!

So  these re -cert  courses  (which are required every yr)   are very valuable , they keep my technique fresh and allow me to learn the latest findings in healing.

Along with the seminar I had a client fly in for a few days   to  see her progress as she is competing in an upcoming show this yr. Her name is Jenn Scott,  an EMT   who is looking to do her first figure show. As  you can see from the pics below, she is a little fire cracker!  Incredible energy and passion when in the gym.We had planned on doing the June show of this yr.  Upon looking at her, I could  see she was a little behind. Now being behind can be taken many ways.My first concern is  the person’s  well being , mentally and physically, so I look at her condition  her work load[ she works up to 60 hrs a week in a high stressful job].Its my job to bring her in healthy and at the same time competively.

all stocked up with her  AMS   products!

thats gettin  low  girl ! YEEEAA!

almost at the finish line after a grouling  parkiing lot lunge!

So we decided to keep pushing  for the june show and I would decide 3 weeks out  if we are going to hold off til next show or  push on. Her goal was to go in her  best , not just compete , that is a huge factor for me to take in.  Well that was our plan , but  her body had a different one. lolol  She recently came down with strep throat. I know she’s bummed, but life happens,  this just gives us more time to nail down her condition and allow her to shine on stage likes she dreams about every night. Jen  you   keep your chin up, get  better and lets rock it   get the look we are striving for !!

As I mentioned  I’m super busy with work , training , diet and every day life. But I make it a priority to get out and step away from my “work’ As you can see from the pics below, I’m kinda of a geek.  I  collect  comics , draw alot , collect movie and comic collectibles.  These are the things that got me into bodybuilding .Looking at the comic covers I have always been facinated with muscles, I used to watch wrestling   , these things are what  got me curious  about the gym at a young age.

one of my hobbies for many many  yrs.

 anybody have some crayons? lol

newest addition, helmet from the movie ” GLADIATOR”

just a piece of my ”Lobo”  comic  and collectible collection   10  yrs of collecting various items

As  kid I was pretty short / small and  the sports I liked  [ basketball and football]  I was too small.  We all grew up with some insecurities,  me being short def could of  hampered me . But  thank god for the gym, the first time I went to the gym at the age  15`1/2  I  knew right then  this was for me ! It doesnt matter how tall, short , skinny or fat you are, anyone can do it.The  rush I  get from training is incredible, even after 25 yrs of  training I still get excited for my  next  workout !

Its about  improving  yourself!  building self confidence, and thats what it did for me .  Hell I love being short, LESS WORK FOR ME ! so everyone says.. so my height worked for me instead of against me.

One thing that pops in my head   as I write this is , if you know anything about comics  i.e   superman , spiderman the hulk  etc. these guys are  strong confident larger than life  fictional characters that  people “look up to” but do you ever look at there alter egos?   david banner- the hulk,  he is a introvert very to himself shy for the most part, but when pushed passed the point  his alter ego comes to life  , his “”wall”.  Or spiderman, a nerdy  peter parker   science geek, but when he puts the suit and mask on he’s a witty  confident superhero taking on the bullies of the world. And  lastly  superman , the strongest of the superheros  is  a nerdy  journalist named  clark kent  a clumsy insecure  gentlman  trying to fit in.

As   fitness competitors  bodybuilders  figure etc. we all have that geek side we try to hide.  We hide behind our ” WALL” or  physique. There is soo much more to theses people  but , fear of being looked at like the “”geek , dork’  etc”   they let there body dictate who they are.  We are all geeks in one way or another, we are more like each other than people will ever know unless you allow yourself to be you. IT will open doors to new friendships and even opportunties.  But most importantly allow  you to be you !

Ok Ive  rambled  enough,  but this has been on my mind for many weeks as I watch tons of athletes walking around  stressed and hiding behind there walls.

CONTEST PREP!

Ok  we are just under 12 weeks   before my first show.  Prep is incredible, yes I  keep saying that but , Chris Aceto has been making it easy for me . I’ve been busting my ass  since nov. and it’s  paying off now. It was frustrating in 08 and09  KILLING  myself and seeing  nothing work.  This yr with Chris has showed me once again how to work even smarter and not tear down my body.  Taking off 2010  allowed my body to fully rest from the rigors of dieting , but also   the mental  stress of the poor performances I felt I had.

With Kim[ my better half]   here living now,    I’ve  been in such a better mindset,  she keeps me grounded ,calm  ,  understands the bbing lifestyle, and at the same time   helps me escape the lifestyle and be me.  Thankfully we have tons of similar interests outside the fitness lifestyle, Zoo’s, beach, movies etc.  We click in many many ways and  this just makes  your mental  aspect in contest prep that much easier when you have such a great partner in life. thank you baby! mwuah!
