Hey Muscle Maniacs!
Well , I survived another crazy arnold expo, 300,000 people venture through this over the 3 days and its crazier every year..
So upon arriving in Columbus late thurs night Kim and I were picked up AMS’s one and only David Cannoy,[ the owner of the company]. This guy is a class act, he made sure I had any food I needed ready for me upon my arrival. What company owner do you know goes out of there way to do that for there athlete!?
Once at hotel Kim and I checked out our hotel room which was great! Spacious clean huge rooms and sooo comfortable. Def one of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed in when visiting arnold wknd.

At this point I still had a session of cardio to do from the ”technician” Chris Aceto, even if your are traveling prep doesnt stop or get altered , so it was off to get in 30 minutes.Once that was over, Dave and I got a game plan together for friday and decided a few of us would go train in the am before the expo started so we could keep up with our workouts.
As friday rolled around we all went to get breakfast and off to train . It was back and arms for me [ i train back 2 x a week] . It was a fast paced workout and I was able to give pointers to the guys as well as try out some new machines that I’ve never used before .

Once the workout was over it was back to the hotel to get meals and our stuff for the day to get this expo started. Its def a fun”’job” working the booth, the people you run into each yr def make it memorable.
As you can see from the pics there is quite a few people that go to this and I’m telling you pics never do justice, it swamped in there for 8 hrs !friday had a good flow as we spread the word of our products. I was able to see tons of friends I dont see but once or twice a yr , so I try and make sure I make the most of those short times with old friends and new ones I make along the way.
As the expo came to an end on this day, we all headed to a short dinner and rest up for the next day.

As saturday came , we all prepared for the ”big day” . Meaning this is usually the biggest day of the 3 so we have to be on A game for whatever the day throws us. I had my meals packed , plenty of water and comfortable shoes. I don’t know how girls wear high heels, I wouldnt last 4 hrs . lolol
The day ran quite smoothly , sales were decent for the day and I GOT TO SHAKE ARNOLDS HAND !! lolol he’s heavily guarded as he walks through the expo shaking hands here and there. HE first shook Dave’s hand then I reached out mine, as he shook mine he said”" this guys ripped”" lolol. A huge compliment from the “”OAK” himself!!
Now as the expo ended , we had a plan to go train legs after we grabbed a meal. This was an interesting trip to the gym to say the least. We intended to train at this gym called LIFETIME FITNESS. A fancy gym that had all the bells and whistles including a water slide. To me it was the closet gym so thats all I cared.Well as we entered to go train we were told we cant train due to” VISITORS HOURS”" thats right that have designated hours when vistors are allowed to train.. 26YRS in gyms , I’ve never heard of this rule. Needless to say I will never visit another one of these facilities again.
Seeing as it was so late we had to put legs off til sunday am. I was frustrated but , after a long day , I decided it was time to get some sleep and wake up fresh for our last day here.
As sunday rolled around we were up bright and early, to our surprise there wasa nice layer of snow on the ground. To me it’s no big deal I grew up in mass. and saw yrs of wintery weather. But to Kim it was like watching a kid being in snow for the first time.. lol [ she grew up in palm springs cal.] So we headed to this place called the waffle house for some of us to get breakfast. My god, I felt like I was on an episode of “”Alice”" a old 80′s sitcom with a diner called “” mels z diner” .It was typical midwest diner , you know those places that use like 5 lbs butter to one cup of grits.. lol Hell , they didnt even have oatmeal!! Thank god I brought my meal, but it was fun watching Kim and Dave eat there buttery delights.. lololol. Now that experience was over it was off to METRO gym.. in down town Columbus.

Kim getting low!
Our workout wasnt one for the record books but , this is something I’ve learned when traveling, take a down a notch. Different enviroment, time change etc. , so rather than chance inury I backed off and ran through my routine in more of a 75% itnensity. It was a good workout and lets me hang out with Dave on a different level, more of a friend level and not business like.I feel it builds a better business relationship if you can mix business with pleasure.
It was now off to the expo , now this day is usually the slowest , as people are flying out to get back home for work the next day. But that wasn’t the case! We got bombarded with tons of people buying our products, non stop for 4 hrs . Mike, Ian , Kim , Dave and myself were killing it at the booth. We couldn’t keep the stuff on the tables , Kim and Mike couldn’t keep up restocking the table as fast as we were selling it . It was nuts! Kim and I were bummed we had to leave for our flight,as we had a 3 pm flight we had to catch a cab andbe at the airport a few hrs before. So Kim and I said our good byes tot the crew and friends as we left the expo.
a VERY BIG fan lol
another loyal AMS fan !
At the airport we had no problems with getting to our terminal, this weekend ended as smoothly as it started.. thank god. I didnt realize how tired I was til we took off. I was out cold on both our flights heading home. Great weekend for sure!
